| Aug. 28th, 2007 06:58 pm Overdue Posting Well as per usual I have allowed too much time to traverse without posting an update. At least one of any substance. :-)
I found out a while back that my property was being placed on the market. What that means is that property developers have an opportunity to come in and bid on the mall. If the bid goes through the mall will be sold to a new property developer. It's a very interesting process to go through and I'm not sure I'd really want to experience it again. It isn't really bad or good, just that there's a lot of thoughts behind it as an employee of the location. There are several possibilities involved in the sale:
1) It doesn't go through and the process starts all over again until someone buys it. Initially this is what we all thought would happen. In reality quite the opposite occurred.
2) The sale goes through and my company picks up a new contract with the future owners and life continues on with little interruption. I'm not completely opposed to this idea. The problem with it is that I welcome the chance to move on and due other things within the company.
3) The sale goes through and my company loses the contract. This is probably the worse case scenario. It would mean that I would be left with a choice. A) Potentially convert over to the new company, leaving six years of service behind. B) Transfer to a new property within my company; however I doubt very much I would get to pick where that is. In other words, I could end up God knows where. Again this option isn't my favorite.
That said I have been actively looking for a property that I feel would suit my needs. (lifestyle, career, and personal) I would really welcome a move to California, given some recent personal events. Ultimately that is the goal. The reality of the situation is that time is quickly running out as my current property could be bought out by the middle of October. My criteria for selecting a new property had to be reduced somewhat in order to obtain one within the time frame. All of that said I have applied at 3 locations thus far. The first was in California (just south of the Anehiem area, LA) I was really hoping to at least interview for it. I figured that would show that I had options available to me in the way of my career. I haven't heard anything from the Regional so I doubt very seriously that I will be given that opportunity. The second was a property in San Antonio, TX. It was still a good choice, because it would have taken me back to TX and my family. For reasons out of my control, I don't think I will be given that opportunity either. The last property is in Jacksonville, FL which I applied for today. This is probably my best shot and hopefully I will at least get an interview. I know that my Regional would love to see me stay in his area and I think Jacksonville would be a big enough city to satisfy me. It is the least ideal in the sense that I would be "starting over" in the way of friends. Not too mention that I wouldn't be close to St. Pete and would have to figure out my romantic interest in that regard. In that respect I would hope that it continued on ever so steady until such a time came that convenience could finally play a factor. That bridge has yet to be crossed and only time and patience will tell.
Speaking on the romantic portion of my life, I would like to say that I am extremely lucky. It may be passe or perhaps cliche, but "good things come to those who wait". I still truly believe that my "purpose" for moving to Florida was to meet an amazing remarkable guy. Ever since doing so, my life hasn't been the same. He's helped me see the a different light and become a better person. I hope that I've provided some of that wisdom for him as well. This journey that we've embarked on has a destination unknown to either of us. It's not how I envisioned a relationship to blossom, but as with most things in life, the unexpected is often a beautiful surprise.
As for the rest of my life, my friends and family keep me well. I've truly been blessed in life when it comes to each of those. Where ever I end up I will always know that I have always been wealthy because of the people in my life. 1 comment - Leave a comment | |

| FACT:You embody the German principle of Konstantzusammenschaft, which is best described in English (without using the obscure English word "sammenschaft") as "eternal togethermanship". | | | The Loverboy Random Gentle Love Master (RGLM)
Well-liked. Well-established. You are The Loverboy. Loverboys thrive in committed, steady relationships--as opposed to, say, Playboys, who want sex without too much attachment.
You've had many relationships and nearly all of them have been successful. You're a nice guy, you know the ropes, and even if you can be a little hasty with decisions, most girls think of you as a total catch. Your hastiness comes off as spontaneity most of the time anyhow, making you especially popular in your circle of friends, too.
Your exact male opposite: The Billy Goat
Deliberate Brutal Sex Dreamer | You know not to make the typical Loverboy mistake of choosing someone who appreciates your good humor and popularity, but who offers nothing in return. You belong with someone outgoing, independent, and creative. Otherwise, you'll get bored. And then instead of surprising him with flowers or a practical joke, you'll surprise him by leaving.
ALWAYS AVOID: The Billy Goat (DBSD)
CONSIDER: The Boy Next Door (RGLD), The Loverboy (RGLM) |
